As its name suggests it is famous for birds and a variety of birds visit this place, attracting tourists. One can enjoy the mesmerizing view of the road that passes through forest and small hills up to the Chidia tapu. A one-hour long journey from Port Blair to reach Chidia tapu will definitely narrate a story to you. If you are interested to watch the sunset then an afternoon trip to this place is advised. One can find the remains of trees uprooted during Tsunami in 2004 near the beach. You will not find any restaurant or food stall inside the park; however, one could find small hotels at the entrance. While traveling to this place sea will be to your left side and on your way, you would pass through the Kalapathar, a trail of black rocks and beach. If you like you could stop there to take some pictures and proceed to Chidia Tapu. In a nutshell, Chidya Tapu is a beach in the Andaman Islands that is very famous for its bird sightings.
